POMEGRANATE EATING & JUICING

ITS EASY

To see how to open and get the seeds out of a pomegranate go to:

To juice a pomegranate cut the crown off and cut the pomegranate in half (like an orange, not like an apple) or quarters and use a CITRUS PRESS to press the juice out. DO NOT use any thing that will move as an electric juicer as this will get the partition material and skin in the juice and it is bitter, just use straight pressure. You can find one on e-bay or Hamilton-Beach makes one. Just look for citrus press or Juice King. The newer citrus presses are chrome and might be better, it is a matter of choice.
The larger pomegranate juice companies use pressure to get the juice out, so you will just be doing it on a smaller scale. The pomegranate juice that I have seen in the grocery stores is made from concentrate, to me it just does not have the flavor of fresh pressed. If you have not tried fresh pressed juice you are in for a treat.
